METHODOLOGY
In order to develop our analysis and determination of the best quality of life in European cities, we have chosen surveys as our research methodology.
Through them, we hoped to gain first-hand knowledge of the needs of European citizens, their perspective of the place where they live and their expectations of other places they know.

DELIMITATION OF OBJECTIVES
From February 2022 to November 2022 we stationed a team of 5 surveyors at some of Europe’s major airports* in terms of passenger traffic: Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Rome.
Our target volume was 25,000 surveys of transit passengers at these airports.

Population delimitation
In addition, given the need to require some knowledge of different countries in order to make an assessment, and to avoid chauvinisms and philias, we chose a non-probabilistic sample population.
Therefore, respondents answered filter questions to determine their compliance with the requirements: to be residents of the EU – regardless of their nationality – and to have spent a period of at least one week in two or more European capitals other than the one in which they lived in the last two years.

Conception du questionnaire et interprétation des mesures
We interpret as valid surveys those that were answered 100% using closed questions with a numerical scale and open questions with open fields to qualitatively complement the previous ones. The questionnaire has been designed to minimise non-response.
